Dr. Remke focuses his work on understanding plant & soil microbe responses to drought and long term climate manipulation scenarios. By using common gardens and structural equation models, he advances ecological theory and better understands adaptations to environmental novelty in the water limited southwest.

“In the equation of life in the southwest, it seems clear that water is commonplace the limiting factor, and by understanding where water comes from, how it is used, and where it goes, we can better understand the future of life.”
