The Osage Nation has over two thousand orphaned wells on their land that need plugging and remediation to stop the pollution of toxic chemicals that are leaking out of the wells. This pollution is contaminating the land and water, threatening areas of cultural significance to the Osage Nation.

The Story of Blue Birds Flying

Matthew’s project is a story of his experience through his first year of college and working on a spring restoration with Hopitutskwa Permaculture. Through his experience, he found his passion for cultural resource preservation. As well as reconnecting himself with his culture by protecting what indigenous cultures view as sacred.
